7. IREn in other environments

Since this document is only an introduction, no detail is given of the full suite of options. That is available in the reference. It is worth knowing of other applications of IREn 4.9

The RenderX website has a page devoted to alternative ways of configuring IREn 4.9 It is worthwhile appreciating these, they may be in use now, or in the future, in your organisation.

Be aware that IREn 4.9 may be readily integrated into all these products.

• The jEdit plugin jEdit is a cross platform editor with an amazing range of plugin components.

• The oXygen editor The oXygen xml editor provides built-in support for IREn. RenderX offers a bundled distribution, Docbench, in which IREn and oXygen are tuned to work with each other.

• As an Ant task Ant is a java based building tool. IREn distribution includes a Task for Ant.

• Cocoon A web development framework

• As part of a Java servlet For Tomcat server users.

• As an Enterprise Java Bean IREn can server as a remote or local EJB in J2EE environments.
